Albert Heijn - Christmas Light Show

Albert Heijn, the oldest supermarket chain in the Netherlands, inspires with their innovative and creative advertisements. With Christmas around the corner they needed some serious festive lighting for a recent social media campagne and The Art of Light was happy to take the job. Together with Sightline Productions and XSAGA, they created a next level light show in an all american style for a Albert Heijn supermarket in Houten (Utrecht).

AN ALL AMERICAN CHRISTMAS

The idea was to create an over the top american Christmas experience. One that makes you feel like you’re in a Christmas movie, but in reality you’re just at your local grocery store. The Art of Light programmed the many Christmas LED lights, with a MA-session reaching 65.000 parameters distributed over 190 universes, on the song ‘Don’t stop me now’ by Queen.

This Christmas experience all came together in the studio of the Art of Light, where it was programmed on the GrandMA2 and visualised using WYSIWYG. The finetuning happened on location, together with the other disciplines.

For three evenings people could come and see the light show every fifteen minutes. Considering the sing alongs of the audience and enthusiastic reactions on social media, it was a great succes.
